Open Burning Permit

To obtain a burning permit locally and for free, contact one of the Baldwin Fire Wardens.

Another option is the Maine Forest Service allows people to purchase an open burning permit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Permits are $7.00 each and $2.00 from each permit goes to the organized municipality where it was purchased.

Online permits are only valid for the immediate 48 hours after payment has been submitted. Burning permits can not be purchased for a future date.

Payment can be made by credit card. You will be able to print your permit at the end of the online process.
